YOU Need to Help Me, Help Me: A Journey of Faith and Health

There’s nothing like the joy and excitement that comes with knowing your prayers have been heard and answered. For me, the moment I fully surrendered my struggles to God, asking for His help in my health and weight loss, was life-changing. For years, I thought my health wasn’t important enough to bring to God in prayer. After all, weren’t there “bigger” issues to pray about? But I’ve realized that God cares about every part of my life—even the parts I was hesitant to bring to Him. And His answers have been beyond anything I imagined!!!!!

The Shift That Changed Everything

For years, I excelled in so many areas of life, taking on big projects and accomplishing amazing things. But one area where I kept falling short was my health. Specifically, tackling weight loss felt like an impossibly uphill battle. I would get motivated for a time, only to lose focus or fall into old habits. Still, I never brought this struggle to God. It seemed too small, too personal, for prayer.

That changed a month ago. After years of trying and failing to handle it on my own, I had a moment of clarity. I realized that my calling—to fulfil what God has placed in my heart, to build a legacy through my work and business—is tied directly to my health. It’s impossible to do all I’m meant to do if my physical, mental, and emotional health aren’t aligned. I prayed, “Lord, if I’m going to do what You’ve called me to do, I need my health to improve. You need to help me. Help me."

And just like that, God opened a door where I had only seen walls.

The Promise of Healing and Provision

God’s Word has been my guide every step of the way, especially these three scriptures that are now anchors for my "Return 2 Health" journey:

  • Jeremiah 33:6 (NKJ): “Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.”
This verse is my reminder that God is invested in my healing—not just physically, but in every area of my life. It’s a promise of restoration and balance.

  • Philippians 4:19 (NKJ): “And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
When I prayed for help, this verse reassured me that God would provide what I needed to succeed, whether it was strength, resources, or even people to support me.

  • Mark 9:23 (NKJ): “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
This has been a mantra for me. No matter how many times I’ve failed before, God reminds me that with faith, persistence, and His help, this time will be different.

The Gift of Community and Support

When I asked God for help, I didn’t just expect His guidance—I needed it. And He delivered in such an incredible way. God answered my prayer by sending me a support team tailored exactly to what I needed to achieve my health goals:

  1. A Nutritionist: My nutritionist will be key to helping me understand the impact of food in my body. Through personalized meal plans and expert guidance, I will learn how to fuel my body in a way that supports healing, energy, and overall vitality.
  2. A Health Coach: Alongside my nutritionist, my health coach will be instrumental in keeping me motivated. They will help me set clear goals and stay accountable to my vision for a healthier life. They will be guiding me in building habits that actually stick, reinforcing the idea that lasting wellness is about a holistic lifestyle.
  3. A Psychologist: One of the most unexpectedly powerful pieces of this support system has been the psychologist. They will help me tackle the emotional and mental roadblocks I didn’t even realize are holding me back—from stress to self-sabotage. This work will give me the tools to overcome challenges and stay grounded on this journey.

This united effort is what I’ve called my “Journey of Returning to SELF.” It’s not just about weight loss; it’s about reclaiming my health, my strength, and my ability to thrive. All of this aligns with my vision for my life and my business, as I live out the mission of my brand, Return2 SELF.

Health is Vital for Building a Legacy

For entrepreneurs and business owners like me, health is more than just a personal goal. It’s a necessary foundation for reaching the potential God has given you. When you’re feeling good physically, emotionally, and mentally, you’re better equipped to lead, create, inspire, and leave the legacy you’ve been called to build. Neglecting your health not only limits you but also impacts those who are counting on your vision to succeed.

As I am walking this path, I am seeing how my improved health allows me to give my all to my work and my calling. It’s proof that investing in yourself isn’t selfish; it’s essential. We can’t pour into others when we’re empty ourselves. God sees that, and He’s willing to help us when we bring these seemingly “small” struggles to Him.

Gratitude and Excitement for the Journey Ahead

I can’t emphasize enough how grateful I am for how God has moved in my life. From the moment I handed over my fear and inadequacy and said, “Lord, You need to help me,” He answered in ways I didn’t expect. The thought of continuing this journey excites me because I know I’m not doing it alone. God’s provision is already evident, and I’m confident that He’ll continue to guide me as I move forward.

This first step may not have been easy, but it has already been worth it. I encourage you to evaluate where you might need God’s help, even in areas you think are “too small” to pray about. You might be amazed at the transformation that starts the moment you say, “You need to help me, help me.”

Stayed tuned for Part 2 of this series, where I’ll look deeper into the practical lessons I’m learning about health and faith, and how those lessons are shaping my life and business.

Purpose in the Fight: Lessons from Spiritual Warfare

Sometimes in life, we come to a point where we feel an undeniable pull to pursue what’s deeply embedded in our hearts. It’s the dreams we’ve carried for so long, the purpose we were created for, the longing that whispers, “Now is the time.” But stepping into that purpose isn’t always easy. It often means facing challenges that test our faith, resilience, and spiritual strength. I recently found myself in such a battle, one that opened my eyes to the reality of spiritual warfare and how it intersects with the choices we make to follow our calling. What transpired wasn’t just a series of events but a profound experience that taught me about rising above unseen battles with faith, prayer, and discernment.   A Dream That Spoke of Challenges One night, I dreamt of a curled-up snake. It was still, lying in my path, almost as though waiting to strike. Instead of being overcome with fear, I leapt over it and moved on. At first, I didn’t think much of it, but as I reflected, the imagery beg...

I AM GRATITUDE

GOD~GRACE~GLENDA~GRATITUDE~GREATNESS   The belief that "everything is part of God’s plan and works together for my good" has been a guiding force throughout my life. There have been times when the bigger picture seemed unclear, and challenges felt overwhelming. Yet, I’ve learned to trust those moments, knowing that God’s plan unfolds in ways we cannot always see. As Ecclesiastes reminds us, "He has made everything beautiful in its time." This powerful truth has taught me patience and helped me recognize that even life’s difficulties have purpose.   Last year, in particular, was a season of immense challenge. I faced trials that stretched me in ways I didn’t expect, but I now see how those moments were part of God refining and shaping me. Where there was uncertainty, He provided direction. Where there was hardship, His grace carried me through.   Living with Purpose Each of us is entrusted with a unique calling, a "God-given task" meant to bring light and m...

Embracing Transformation: Overcoming Procrastination and Self-Sabotage en route to Return2SELF

There comes a time when we find ourselves standing at the crossroads of transformation and self-discovery. It is easy to become our own harshest critics, placing limits on the love we deserve due to perceived flaws that only we can see. However, this internal battle often leads us down a path of procrastination and self-sabotage, even when everything seems to be going well. Through meditation and reflection, I've found inspiration in “my manual,” which calls for liberation from presumptuous sins—those negative thoughts that bind us. Imagine working tirelessly towards your dreams only to stall at the finish line because you suddenly doubt your capabilities! This is what happens when we fail to recognize the power of our words—what you say about yourself matters because you're listening too. As I sat in meditation this morning, reflecting on Psalm 19:13, it became clear that much of my self-judgment stems from what can be described as presumptuous sins—those subtle yet pervasive ...
